Step 9: Finishing the Painting - A few water lines and other details
Using your palette knife, pull a small amount of soft white flat on the palette. Fig. 74. Load the long edge of the
knife and cut a few water lines in the water and at the banks of the evergreens and distant trees.

Saw the knife back and forth to thin out the lines of paint. The farther away the lines, the thinner they should
be. Don't place too many. . .less is more!

Don't expend any effort adding any details to the background of the painting. Objects that far back should be
only indicated.
Finish the reflections by,
again, softly running the 1"
brush vertically and
horizontally across the
water.
