Step 2: Paint the Sky
Firstly, use the pallet knife to pull a small amount of blue paint
out and flat. Fig. 5
Clean your one inch brush that was just used to apply the soft
white by rubbing the bristles into some paper towels.
Tap the brush about 5 or 6 times into this flatten blue paint area
to get some blue into the bristles. Fig. 6 & 7

('X' stroke) - pull diagonally to
the right. . .
then pull diagonally to the left over top
of previous stroke in shape of 'x'

Push the brush firmly into the canvas to help drive the paint into the
grain of the canvas. The canvas should look wet but not necessarily
'feel' wet to the touch. You merely want to moisten the surface. If you
overdo the white at this point all the colors you apply after may look
chalky. Don't overdo it! Less is more.
