Management at the Skyview location recently informed me as well as the various other instructors of
news that our services would no longer be required effective March 31, 2008. Head office in the US
is apparently revamping the entire Michaels chain both here in Canada and in the United States.
Unfortunately for me, part of that restructuring includes terminating all painting classes and lessons
offered at Michaels Arts & Crafts outlets. On the plus side, though, this recent developments has
allowed me more time to offer more painting lessons at the home studio. Therefore, beginning April
1, 2008, I will be adding Tuesdays and Thursday evenings to the home class schedule, as well as
Saturdays 3-6 pm.
I began offering oil painting lessons at Michaels in the spring of 2004 and as a result, I have met some
of the most wonderful people. The majority of them with a genuine appreciation for the visual arts
and a willingness to learn oil painting and expand their own creativity.
I will miss that very much. I am grateful that many of my current home students started out with me
at the Michaels store. A few have been with me from the very beginning.
Thank you all for your faith in me and for allowing me the opportunity to continue to develop mine
and your painting skills through this very learner-friendly medium.
